Thanks to your skills and your commitment within the press service, you will contribute to the monitoring of Estonian news, to the Embassy’s communication policy, to the promotion of its activities and French-Estonian relations, as well as the development of the Embassy’s audience online and on social networks.

The position is a replacement of an agent during a long-term leave, of at least 1 year and a half (and until the latter’s return).

Start date: March 1, 2023

The position

As press attaché, you will be part of a team of 3 persons, made up of a translator, a French trainee and yourself, and will be placed under the direct supervision of the First Counselor at the Embassy. You will work in close collaboration with the different Departments of the Embassy and its external interlocutors.

Main tasks

• Media monitoring: press and social networks, information of the political chancery on Estonian news;

• Press briefings and daily news summaries for the ambassador and his team;

• Preparation of notes;

• Maintain and develop the contacts of the press service in the media field;

• Communication activities (Embassy work, organized events, visits by authorities, etc.)

• Response to press requests (for interviews, press aspect of official visits, etc.)

• Manage the Embassy’s website and social networks and develop their audience, ensure the quality of their content;

• Develop the visibility of the embassy, its activities, and its communication capacities.

Required skills

• Fluent spoken Estonian and English (C1), and advanced level in writing in these two languages.

Ideally a good level in French is sought after and would be a real plus.

• Good written and oral expression skills;

• Good general culture, knowledge of the Estonian institutional environment, interest in political and diplomatic issues;

• Knowledge of the media landscape;

• Skills in new methods of communication and handling of social networks;

• Understanding of the environment linked to a diplomatic mission (professionalism, discretion)

• Dynamism, flexibility, responsiveness, efficiency

Salary

Gross monthly salary of €1832
