7th innovation prize – Applications open until April 22

For the 7th consecutive year, Universal Biotech launches the call for proposal to valorise the most

innovative projects in the healthcare industry. The Innovation Prize awards young start-ups (< 8

years) and academic research groups working on projects concerning drugs, medical devices,

medical technologies and e-health solutions.

Since, this event has become a reference in stimulating innovation in the field of Life Sciences

worldwide.

The prize benefits from the support of public organizations (National Research Agency, Institute

Pasteur), the biotech industry (Ipsen), and pharmaceutical laboratories (Servier, GlaxoSmithKline,

Mayoly Spindler, Sanofi)

Last year, they welcomed more than 200 applications from more than 30 countries. Two laureates

were rewarded each with the overall prize of €30 000, including cash and consulting services

provided by Universal Biotech and its partners.

Through their adapted ‘Open Innovation Management’ platform, participants are able to easily

submit their project until April 22. Thereafter, the Jury will evaluate the projects submitted and

select the semi-finalists and finalists.

The laureates’ rewarding ceremony will take place during the Innovation Days 2015, October 5.

This event brings together public and private actors of the life sciences industry to maximize

business opportunities during two days of high level conferences and one-on-one partnering

meetings.

The Innovation Prize is a Life Science key event and an international showcase for companies and

innovative projects. Participating in the prize will enlarge your project’s visibility and offers you a

unique chance to profit from a high-quality feedback. Therefore, this Prize acts as a stepping stone

for your project development.

To highlight the importance of this event it can be stated that 58% of previous Innovation Prize start-
up finalists have contracted collaboration with pharmaceutical companies or raise funds after

participation!
