Gautier Capuçon performs in Tallinn

The famous French cellist Gautier Capuçon will give a concert on July the 15 at 19:00 at Saint-John Church of Tallinn (Vabaduse väljak 1). He will be accompanied by YOA Orchestra of the Americas, conducted by Carlos Miguel Prieto.

Gautier Capuçon was born in Chambery in 1981, and is one of greatest cellists of his generation. Very precocious, he started the cello at the age of 4, and has been internationaly awarded from the age of 17. In 2001, he was also named “New talent of the year” by Victoires de la Musique (the French equivalent of a Grammy).
Now, Gautier Capuçon is recognised as one of the most influential cellists of his time, he performs in the whole world, and ensures around 150 concerts each year. He also collaborates with a lot of famous musicians, including his brother who is a violonist.

Gautier Capuçon will be accompanied on July the 15 by YOA Orchestra of the Americas, a world-class symphony orchestra composed of young talents between 18 and 30 years old, from 25 nationalities of the Western Hemisphere. They have performed in the most prestigious concert halls of the world, and accompanied some of the biggest names of music, like Martha Argerich or Philip Glass. The aim of this orchestra is to empower the career of young prodigies.

This concert will take place during the 24th edition of the church music’s festival Rapla, which will also host another French artist : the violonist Alexandra Soumm.
