Don’t miss the Estonian National Symphonic Orchestra – ENSO’s first concert of the CITY LIGHT Series: “Paris-La Belle Epoque” !

It will take place in Tallinn, 12 February at 19:00, at the Estonia Concert Hall (Estonia pst 4).

The 40-year period between the end of the Franco-German war (1871) and the beginning of the First World War (1914) went down in history as “La Belle Epoque”. The decades surrounding the turn of the century saw arts developing with unprecedented intensity.

 The ENSO chamber ensemble will perform pieces by some of this era’s most famous composers:

Francis Poulenc (1899–1963). Sextet for Piano and Wind Quintet (1939)
Vincent d`Indy (1851–1931). Sarabande and Menuet for Piano and Wind Quintet, Op. 72 (1886/1918)
Albert Roussel (1869–1937). Divertimento for Piano and Wind Quintet, Op. 6 (1906)
Jean Françaix (1912–1977). L´heure de berger (The Shepherd’s Hour) for Piano and Wind Quintet (1947)
Igor Stravinsky (1882–1971). Excerpts from L’histoire du soldat (The Soldier’s Tale; 1917)
