After the singer Alma, who finished 12th last year with her song "Requiem", Madame Monsieur will represent France in the Eurovision 2018 with the song "Mercy"!

Madame Monsieur: a French pop duo with urban influences

Émilie Satt and Jean-Karl Lucas met each other in a Parisian bar in 2008. Then, the two songwriters have never stopped composing songs together. In 2013, they formed Madame Monsieur, a unique electro pop duo on the French music scene, and they released their first EP entitled Malibu Ep.

The duo doesn’t like to be pigeonholed and doesn’t hesitate to mix genres: inspired by French music, Anglo-Saxon pop and urban music, Émilie and Jean-Karl have worked in collaboration with rappers like Youssoupha and Disiz, the jazz trumpet player Ibrahim Maalouf, and other artists with whom they released their second EP, Tandem, in November 2016.

2018 marks a turning point in the history of Madame Monsieur: in addition to the release of their first studio album Vu d’ici at the end of April, a concert in Paris this summer and a tour in November, the duo won the TV show Destination Eurovision with the song “Mercy” which is the true story of a girl born on a humanitarian ship in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.
