Three French teenage girls at CyberWizards 2024

July 31, 2024

CyberWizards is a cybersecurity camp located in the small town of Kehtna, Estonia. This year, three French girls from the Île-de-France and Grand-Est regions represent France.

Organized by the Estonia Information System Authority from July 29th to August 3rd, 2024, and supported by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre, it invites girls aged 13-16, tech enthusiasts or curious minds, to join on an exciting journey into the world of hacking.

No prior programming or cybersecurity knowledge is needed – the hundred girls who participate bring their enthusiasm for a week of exploration. Workshops take place every day. Participants learn about the field of cyber security solving tasks, and learn for example how passwords are cracked, what information can be found by scanning the network and what we can do with it, how to protect yourself in cyberspace, what is allowed in cyberspace and what is not allowed.

The camp schedule includes a variety of fun group activities. In fact, beyond the discovery of the world of cybersecurity, which represents a pool of jobs for the future and whose feminization is a stated ambition, young girls are opening up to other European cultures. They travel to Estonia, evolve alongside Estonians, Italians, Czechs, Latvians, British, etc., and thus benefit from an exceptional international experience at a young age.
