Opening of the exhibition “Ecrire en Français”

Official opening with open stage.

Friday, march  21  – 18h – Kuninga 4

The French Institute of Estonie is proud to present you his new exhibition dedicated to richness and diversity of french language litterature : Ecrire en Français – histoires de langues, voyages de mots. (Writing in French – stories of languages, travels of words). This exhibition is created by Alliance Française of Paris, in collaboration with Bernard Magnier, litterature curator and journaliste, and Raphaelle Macaron, illustrator.

The exhibition is made from quotes, portraits and interviews. It shows unique destinies of writers came from all over the world. All of them are writing in French, a language that some choosed, and other not. “How to choose between the language of my mother and the one of my children?” is asking Vassilis Alexalis; ” The choixe is simple for me: between French or French” says Sami Tchak; “confortable as a pyjama, unconfortable as a pebble in the shoe” shares Karim Kattan.

Through more than hundred of quotes, you will discover the different relations that all theses writers have with French language :“How did they came to French language ?” How did they choose ?” Did it was a real choice ? And finally, how did they develop it?”

The opening of the exhibition will be hold on the 21.03 at 18h in French Institute of Estonia (free entrance). At this occasion, you will be attending our Open Stage, or participe if you want. The Open stage is a free-expression space, where everybody can express his own personal relation to french language. With a poem, a text, a song that you composed yourself or selected.

Participating to the open stage is based on free registration.
