Celebrate the 25th birthday of the French Institute on Instagram

April 5, 2017 / May 26, 2017

To celebrate its 25th birthday, the French Institute of Estonia holds a photo contest from April 5th to May 26th through its Instagram account, @if_estonie. Get behing the camera, be creative... and win prizes such as French workshops, concert tickets, tote bags and various prizes.

For this contest, you can share your pictures around three topics:

  • « READING » : Share your favourite reading moments. The picture must include a French author’s book, either in its original version or in Estonian.
  • « FRENCH IDIOM » : Use a picture or a drawing to illustrate a French idiom: « tomber dans les pommes » (lit. to fall into the apples, meaning to faint), « monter sur ses grands chevaux » (lit. to climb on one’s high horses, meaning to get off one’s high horse), « avoir un coup de foudre » (lit. to be struck by lightning, meaning love at first sight), « ne pas avoir froid aux yeux » (lit. not to have cold eyes, meaning to be bold), « se mettre sur son 31 » (lit. to put on one’s 31, meaning to get really well dressed up), « l’habit ne fait pas le moine » (lit. the clothes don’t make the monk, meaning don’t judge a book by its cover), « être aux anges » (lit. to be with the angels, meaning to be extremely happy), « être haut comme trois pommes » (lit. to be as tall as three apples, meaning to be knee-high to a grasshopper), « avoir une faim de loup » (lit. to be as hungry as a wolf, meaning to be really hungry) etc.
  • « AN IDEA OF FRANCE » : Capture a moment, a scene, a place, an object… that you feel represents France in a way.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?
