The Vincent Courtois Trio on tour in Estonia

Vincent Courtois (France, violoncello), Daniel Erdmann (Germany, saxophone) and Robin Fincker (France, saxophone and clarinet) invite you to discover their musical creation that will certainly please all jazz music enthusiasts. In 2017, they released an album entitled “Bandes Originales”, which represents the first part of their concert and whose inspiration comes from ten films performed to music. It is not a simple reproduction of film music, but rather their original interpretations of these themes, where the known and the unknown are mixed. The second part of the concert is a tribute to the author Jack London entitled “Love of Life” which has been very well received in many festivals in France.

The music of the Vincent Courtois Trio group is melodic, powerful and somewhat nostalgic. The harmony between music and theme is perfect, as is the harmonious tessitura created by the union of the cello and the two saxophones. They were inspired by the films “Hiroshima mon amour”, “E.T.”, “L’Affaire Thomas Crowne”, “Chaque matins du monde”, “Le ballon rouge”, “Le rayon vert”, and “Prends l’oseille et tire-toi!” among others. These films with their original music by great composers such as Nino Rota, Michel Legrand, Giovanni Fusco, John Williams, Marin Marais’ and Marvin Hamlisch had moved the audience. Today, the group Vincent Courtois Trio presents in a new form these melodies that have marked the history of the film.
